Creamy Chocolate Raspberry Avocado Pudding

This chocolate raspberry pudding is the perfect easy-to-make dessert combining just the right amount of sweetness with a delectably creamy base thanks to the key ingredient – avocados! Give this recipe a try for a tasty February treat.

February has me feeling all about the chocolate + raspberry dessert recipes… anyone else?? For my fellow chocolate aficionados, look no further for your future dessert needs than this luscious chocolate raspberry avocado pudding!

If you are skeptical about your avocados mixing with your puddings, I hear your concern! HOWEVER, do not fret, as I would not steer you wrong when it comes to dessert. You really can’t taste the avocado – its sole purpose is to serve as the creamy base for all the flavor goodness!

In addition to tasting amazing, this avocado pudding also has some valuable nutrition highlights. I feel it is my dietitian duty to give you the inside scoop!

Nutrition benefits of this creamy chocolate raspberry avocado pudding:

Avocados: A great source of fat, vitamins K + E, potassium, and fiber. Let’s hear it for ALL the healthy fats for our hormones + skin!

Raspberries: Thinking antioxidants, vitamin C, and more fiber with this juicy berry.

Dark chocolate: A high-quality dark chocolate bar can be an excellent source of iron. My absolute fave (which I used in this recipe) is the organic 72% dark chocolate bar found at Trader Joe’s. It has 30% of the recommended daily amount of iron. Dark chocolate is also a good source of fat, magnesium, and antioxidants.

Cacao powder: Another nutritional punch of antioxidants, iron, and magnesium to this pudding! Cacao powder is made from raw cocoa beans, and is essentially chocolate in its purest form. Cocoa powder, on the other hand, is made from roasted cocoa beans and has less nutritional benefits intact compared to cacao powder. I love this brand as it has a better micronutrient profile than I’ve seen in other brands.

To round out our pudding nutritional overview, let’s not forget the benefits of a yummy dessert for our overall health and well-being!

How to customize your chocolate raspberry avocado pudding:

  • Get creative with toppings such as shaved chocolate, whipped cream, chia seeds, or fresh berries.
  • Not feeling raspberries? Try frozen cherries, strawberries, or blueberries instead. Or omit the fruit altogether for a purely chocolatey pudding!
